Stage 17 was one of mixed feelings for Deceuninck – Quick-Step: while João Almeida enjoyed a spectacular surge up the rankings and is now eighth overall, Remco Evenepoel was forced to call it a race after being involved in a crash that took down several riders on the last descent.
